James and the Giant Beach

John approached the young werewolf from behind and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"You really have that urge, do you?" he asked. "They're humans, and you're a werewolf."

"Look, I'm only 17, a few miles to adult and miles away from a puppy," James replied.

John placed one of his hairy arms on his shoulder and smiled at him.

"You know," he said. When you go to college, Hanna will be helping your father with the livestock."

James brushed his chin whiskers and looked around. He touched the earring on his ear and shrugged his shoulders.

"Billy gets kind of lonely if I don't play with him after chores," he said.

Just then, a piece of paper blew into his face. He took it and read it carefully.

"I've always wanted to try surfing," he said. "Maybe my mom will let me go."
