Kat decided she had enough of the room with the statues for the day, at least for this day, since unless they find a secret chamber to untold wonders that would blow both of their minds and reveal all there was to know about this temple and the civilization it once belonged to, she was most likely have to go back to it the next day.
But for this day, she had enough. She was feeling weird after the... whatever it was that happened. "I'm going to go set up camp for us, okay Nate?" Kat called out as she started to head for the entrance, leaving her brother who gave her an a "Okay" response that told her that he wasn't paying too much attention. She sighed and shook her head. At least he is passionate in his profession.
Once out of the temple, Kat allowed the fresh air to wash over her and once again was in awe of the the structures, mixed with the beautiful sights of autumn painting the surroundings in gold and orange colors of dying leaves. Smiling, Kat went to set up camp for the 2 of them, and get their gear ready for when they really start exploring the place.
She had found a good spot that was not too far from the entrance, tucked away to the side with plenty of space for their tents. She had done this kind of thing so many times, it didn't take her long and soon everything was up and ready for the night.
Kat sat down on some rubble and swung another drink of water, taking a break from setting up everything and glance back over the scenery. That alone was worth the trip here, but the bonus of finding an ancient structure that's hopefully ripe with all sorts of amazing finds, plus a fantastic excuse to stay out of school.
As Kat sat there, she started to think back at what she thought she had experienced... the Goddess, Eshara, and what she said to her, as well as her blowing up with numerous babies, making her gravid and full of life, the way her belly stretched and groan, threatening to pin her where she stood. It was horrifying, and yet also... exciting. It had felt so good... So real! Did she really meet such a being?
Kat shook her head and noticed that she was mindlessly rubbing her trim middle. She looked over to the entrance and didn't see her brother come out yet, and wondered if she should go make sure her brother didn't find himself falling into some ancient trap, or whatever else... Of course he could just as easily been oogling at the statues... not that she can judge.
