The Grand Imperial Theatre Suggestion Box

    by: Cardio Author IconMail Icon
Seijuro was sprinting down the stairs form his room along side the Flower Division. It was the early morning before a performance was to take place that night when Sumire had sent everyone a message on their smartron's that they were to all come to the courtyard immediately.

"Any idea what this is about?" Anastasia asked the group in general.

"I don't know, but it must be important for Sumire to message us all." Sakura replied.

"At least it's not a demon attack or the alarm would be going off." Claris added trying to reason what the message wasn't about at least.

"It could still be bad, like the Bath being out of ordAHHHH!" Seijuro suggested before dodging a kunai that was tossed from the ceiling where Azami was somehow running on.

Without any bodily harm the group made it to the courtyard where Sumire and Reiji were waiting for them by the spiritual crystal...well, standing by a giant box where the spirit crystal was supposed to be.

In a fit of fury Hatsuho rushed up to Reiji and punched him in the face, "WHAT DID YOU DO TO THE SPIRITUAL CRYSTAL!" Reiji screamed as the momentum sent him flying into the side of the theatre. As Sumire smiled, "Don't worry, the crystal is still here, it's at the center of this device that I ordered Reiji to build."

"Yeah...not...my idea..but...it was...needed." Reiji said before passing out.

"If everyone has finished with the ape like brutality, allow me to introduce you to the Grand Imperial Theatre Suggestion Box." Sumire said gesturing to the large box where the spiritual crystal usually sat. It was a large device standing at 10 feet tall with an absurd number of lights and pipes sticking out of it in a variety of directions, and at eye level there was a screen with a keyboard underneath it.

"Suggestion...box?" Sakura said voicing the confusion everyone was feeling.

Sumire put her hand up to her mouth and let out her trademark, "Ohohoh," laugh as she said, "As the Flower Division you have all managed to protect this city from demons and given joy to the people of Tokyo. But what if there was a way to do better at both? You see, the spirit energy you show on the stage to inspire and energize the people in ways that enrich the city on a spiritual level. I believe if the people of Tokyo are energized and inspired it will strengthen the city itself and make it harder, maybe even impossible for demon's to break through and attack ever again. But in order to do this we must know what the people want and give it to them. So we shall start taking suggestions from our patrons." Sumire said once again gesturing to the box.

Everyone seemed to follow what Sumire was saying but one member wasn't satisfied, "But why the hell is the box so giant with all those gizmos, and why is it on top of the Spirit Crystal!?"

Sumire smiled, "Well, if we took all of the suggestion and tried to implement them it could take weeks, months, even years. And by the time the ideas were implemented the people could have changed their minds. Which is why I've asked Reiji to invent this special Suggestion Box."

"You see, it's powered by the Spirit Crystal." Reiji said limping back to the group. "So the patrons write their suggestion in the screen and the Suggestion Box will use that spirit energy to fulfill that suggestion."

"This machine can make anything happen?" Claris said seeing all sorts of bad implications this could have on the world.

"Well, because the spirit crystal is a part of the theatre, it only effects the theatre itself, and those who call it home." Reiji said, "Here watch." Reiji limped up to the Suggestion Box and typed. 'The Theatre's engineer would be more efficient if his bones weren't broken.'. Reiji pulled a lever and the Suggestion Box began to steam and sputter and grind as it began to glow. Not only the box, but Reiji was well. The sounds from the box died down and the glow went away and Reiji started doing some jumping jacks. "See, it works."

Sumire smacked Reiji in the back of the head with her fan, "Indeed it does, but as of now all of you are forbidden from using it. We must use this power to enhance the theatre to the whims of our patrons. Remember this is for the good of Tokyo. Understood?"

Everyone gave a salute. "Yes mam." Everyone said.

"Very good, now get ready for showtime tonight. Our journey to further improve the Grand Imperial Theatre begins tonight."

That day everyone was a bit weary of the Suggestion Box. But Sumire was the boss and everyone decided it would at least be worth seeing how things went tonight after the show. Sure enough after the show the packed theatre left very satisfied with their experience. However one old man seemed unsatisfied as he grumbled as he left making complaints under his breath. Seijuro knowing what to do, escorted the old man to the suggestion box to let his voice be heard.
