Chapter #4

The Adventurer

You stepped out of the adventurers guild, map in hand. Though the guild receptionist ridiculed you for bringing up the idea of recruiting a giant, you were certain you’d be able to do it. I mean sure, you HAD heard the rumours about what some giants had done to passerbys, but this one was definitely different!

You did one last check of your supplies. You had a backpack full of rations and other useful things, a sword for self defense and your trusty map. The last recorded sighting seemed to be at a mountain a few kilometres, so it looks like that was where you were headed. Luckily you had woken up rather early, so most other adventurers would still be asleep. You had the road entirely to yourself!

After about 30 minutes of walking, you came across something peculiar. The path came to a sudden stop as a massive crater was in front of you. It didn’t seem to be like a sinkhole either, as nearby trees were flattened. The only conclusion you could come to was that it was a giant, but most giants you had heard of weren’t large enough to cause a crater this big.

Although this would have frightened off any other adventurer, you on the other hand were thrilled. I mean, the bigger they are the more helpful they will be, right?

After going through the crater and walking for another 15 minutes or so, you arrived at the mountain. As you poked your head through some shrubbery, a peculiar sight lay in front of you. Instead of a massive rocky mountain, was something more light pink and white. Not to mention, it stretched on for meters in either direction. Did you get the location wrong?

However, unbeknownst to you, it was actually…
