After that little scare, Iris would go back up to the living room; luckily, nothing had happened to her, deciding to wait for her mother to return to tell her what had happened.
A few minutes later, Sara would arrive with the things she needed to finish her experiment, Iris would tell her mother what had happened with the cat and the basement asking if there was a problem with the situation.
At that moment, Sara would ask her daughter if she had not activated anything in her laboratory, to which Iris said that she had, that the cat had activated some buttons and a purple ray had hit her in the shoulder.
Sara froze and could only say "or not." Knowing that her daughter had gotten into big trouble, she grabbed her arm and took her to her laboratory, then scanned her, the scanner gave the expected result, Iris had been irradiated by the energy of the new invention which when fired had been broken needing repairs to be able to work again. Sara took a tape measure and would measure Iris confirming her suspicions about what was happening to her daughter.
Iris, worried, would ask her mother about what was happening; to which her mother answered, somewhat shakily but with the truth, her new invention was a shrinking ray, and Iris now was shrinking
