A few more minor suspicious things happen

It began to seem like every day a new memo was going out from your boss.

Over the next three days you noticed even more strange things.

One the first day you a memo went out saying the new break room was completed.

Before it was a drab cramped little spot. Barely a coffee pot and a tiny fridge for lunches.

Now it was a fully furnished room. New vending machines stocked with all sorts of fresh meals and even an espresso machine?

The weird thing was nobody treated the room like it was new. To everyone else but you it seemed like it had always been there.

The following day another memo came in before you even got to work. It said the new desks and computers had arrived.

When you got to work you found everyone now had state of the new desks and chairs. New computers as well. Instead of the ten year old garbage you had all be forced to deal
With until now.

Everyone still seemed to treat this like normal. Only you found these drastic changes strange.

You kept it to yourself for now. No use in stirring up trouble
Over a good thing right. It’s not like you didn’t enjoy these office upgrades.

On the third day however things began to get strange. A new memo came out with an updated dress code. Before it was business casual. Now it said professional attire was required.

For men this meant suits and ties everyday. You didn’t like this but at least you owned a suit.

For the females is where it for really strange. There was a whole list of requirements that seemed…off.

1. Shoes must be high heels no less than three inches.

2. Skirts must be worn every day and maximum length is right above the knee.

3. Blouses are required every day and must be either short sleeved or sleeveless.

4. Hair and makeup is required and to be done in a professional way everyday.

5. Fingernails must be manicured and minimum of quarter inch in length.

You read through the list of requirements for the women and couldn’t help but laugh. There is no way he is serious right? These rules seemed designed to make sure the women dressed sexy every single day.

However as the work day began you saw your co workers coming in and to your surprise every single one of your female co workers came in dressed exactly as required.

At this point you had enough….Something was wrong. During your first break period. You found your co-worker Melissa. She was fairly average looking 27 year old, married with 3 year old son. She never put more into her appearance than was required before but now she looked like she was trying out for the cover of a fashion magazine.

“Hey Melissa. These…these new dress code rules for females…don’t they seem…well kinda sexiest and misogynistic?” You asked.

Melissa just looked to you kind of confused.

“I mean…at this point I’m guess I’m just used to it. All the girls dress like this so it’s not a big deal.” She said like it didn’t matter.

Her reaction surprised you. It was like this had been the norm forever. All the other girls seemed to act the same way.

Your boss David was still out on vacation so all
His memos were coming through via email.

You knew something was wrong but right now you felt odd about speaking up about it.
