"Maybe Jason can help me. Or at least he'll believe me!", thought Ethan, his gaze still fixated on the surreal pictures of himself in a bikini at the beach. It was unlikely that Jason had any idea on how to help Ethan, but the two had been friends for as long as they can remember. No matter how outlandish a claim from Ethan would be, he'll eventually believe his friend.
Ethan stood up from his desk and immediately could feel the hem of his dress swish along his naked legs. He slowly realized that going outside also meant that people would see him in his new get-up, which made him feel self-conscious.
"Mom didn't notice anything though. No need to feel embarrassed!", he thought and tried to rationalize this strange occurence. There was no precedence, at least to his knowledge, so all of this was speculation, but Ethan figured that other people would react like his mother. Especially when he considered his changed photographies.
Ethan grabbed his phone and almost dropped it when he tried to put it into his pocket out of habit. The dress he was wearing lacked pockets, so he had no way of carrying his phone unless he wanted to hold it all the time. Or stuff it in his bra's useless cups, but that didn't sound desireable.
He scanned the room, having a hunch on how he could potentially solve his problem. Sure enough, he saw a familiar white purse hanging from his doorknob. Curious, he opened his closet again and found two other purses stuffed in the back behind some black leather boots.
"I also have her purses. Make sense, I guess…?", he thought and suddenly spotted a several beautry products and a half opened box that looked like it contained various accessories. Instinctively, Ethan reached up to his neck and ears but couldn't find a necklace nor earrings there. His face also didn't feel like he wore any make-up. His fingers also lacked any rings except the one he had slipped on before everything of this happened.
"Don't I wear that stuff? No… Mom has the day off and wanted to get stuff around the house done. She probably didn't bother with putting any of this stuff on", he thought worried. Would people look at him strangely if he didn't wear any make-up? His mother never went outside without putting on make-up. The only times he saw her without it was when she had a stay at home day and didn't expect any visitors. Was this how it's supposed to be for him as well now?
"No way am I going to put anything on. It's bad enough that I have to go out wearing my mother's clothes", he thought and walked over to his door and grabbed the purse. He opened it and briefly noted that it contained his wallet, but also a compact mirror, lipstick, and other make-up. Greg's face became a grimace of disgust and he quickly dropped his phone inside the purse and closed it again.
He slung the purse over his shoulder, which felt suprisingly natural to him, and left his room.
"I'm going over to Jason for a while!", Ethan yelled and quickly left the house. He had no intention of enganging with his mother again at the moment, fearing that she'd give him some lecture about putting on make-up.
"Would she even care though? She didn't seem to have any opinions on my fashion earlier", he wondered as walked along the paveway.
It was a sunny day and fairly warm, making the walk to Jason's house quite enjoyable. Ethan was also glad that he wore flip-flops instead of some of the high heels he saw in his closet.
When he walked past one of his neighbors who mowed his lawn, Ethan expected a shuckle or a comment about his attire. Instead, he just received a friendly nod and the man continued on with his task.
Eventually, Ethan arrived at the Zimmerman's residence and rang the doorbell. While he waited for someone to answer the door, he tried his best to pull the hem of his dress down to cover more of his legs, but to no avail.
A short while later, the door was opened and Vicky Zimmerman, Jason's mother, appeared in the door frame. She smiled friendly when she saw who rang the door bell.
"Ethan! So nice to see you. You're probably here to see Jason?", she asked. "Lovely dress by the way. It really suits you."
"Th-Thanks. And yeah, I wanted to ask Jason something about some college classes", Ethan replied with an awkward smile on his lips. Just like everbody else, she did not seem to notice anything wrong with his appearance.
"Just go upstairs then. He says he's doing something for college, but he probably just plays video games". Vicky sighed and shook her head. "Seriously, sometimes I think he plays his life away…"
Ethan didn't respond to that and instead walked beside his best friend's mother and walked upstairs and into his best friend's room without knocking.
Jason sat on his bed and, just as his mother expected, was playing video games. The boy jumed startled and looked shocked at Ethan.
"Dude!", he exclaimed. "Never heard of knocking? What if I was naked?", he asked.
Ethan grinned at his friend. "Nothing I haven't seen before", he said and closed the door behind him.
"What brings you here?", asked Jason and paused his game. Ethan felt self-conscious again because he wore a dress in front of one of his oldest friends, but Jason didn't seem to mind it, which put Ethan somewhat at ease.
Ethan needed a moment to gather his thoughts. He planned to tell Jason about his situation but seeing the reactions of his neighbours and Jason's mother, he started to doubt that Jason would believe him.
Nonetheless, Ethan told his best friend about how he swapped clothes with his mother.
