Melona returned to her senses just in time to see the vapor strike Professor Skullus, worming its way into the bottomless canyon of her cleavage. It vanished without a trace. Both Melona and the professor looked down at where it just struck, then up at one another.
There was a long pause. Melona wasn't quite sure how this spell would work. Liches were strange when it came to magic, and if she remembered her studies right, a mage of her caliber casting a personality-altering spell would be about as effective as throwing a pebble at the Academy wall and expecting the building to collapse.
The two stared at each other, before Skullus raised her eyebrows. It wasn't an angry gesture. Anger would have been less frightening. Melona could at least understand anger. She might even survive it, though doing so with Professor Skullus seemed pretty unlikely. This, however, felt like a truly unpredictable moment, as though fate was deciding what would be most amusing.
