Buying a house never created so many changes.
This choice: Throw a Party  •  Go Back...
Chapter #5

Instant Changes

    by: Alie Author IconMail Icon
After moving in Alex and I decided to throw a party. We hadn't moved very far from where we went to school, so a group of friends came over, about 10 in all.

After a couple of hours, the music was too loud and we had some neighbors who came over to complain. I heard the doorbell and went to the door. I opened the door and saw Sandy, the woman who came over with husband, Joe. She Began to yell about the noise and the traffic, and about the two people having sex in our hot tub, which they could see from their home. I tried to apologize, but it wasn't going well.

Alex came to the door soon after, and Sandy got even more upset when she realized it was two men living in the house that was meant for families. I tried to apologize, saying that we were just two friends trying to save money in the current economy, but she wanted nothing to hear about that, and Alex didn't make it much better.

Alex said that none of that was in the paperwork we signed, that there was no signage for the parking, and that we were going to live together if we wanted to, we were friends, and even if we were lovers, it wouldn't be wrong. I cringed at that, Sandy and Joe seemed a little Stepford and old fashioned, and probably didn't appreciate that.

Alex looked at me and smiled, "Come on buddy, lets get back to the party." He looked at the neighbors. "And everyone will be gone in a couple of hours, its our first night, it won't always be like this."

Sandy looked at Jonah, he was a little more silent. She could work with him a little more. Jonah needed some adjustment of attitude, but Jonah she could suit to her needs. "You're right," she said. "They won't be."
