"Well with a promise like that..." Josh relented.

"Perfect!" Jenn bounced as she waved down Zoe.

"What's up guys? You decided yet?" Zoe said as she arrived at the table pulling out the notebook from her apron and trying to appear to take an order.

"I'll do it, but Jenn's gonna work out the details." Josh informed.

"Cool but I still got a few hours left on this shift so unless you guys are sticking around that's not gonna work." Zoe said. "Besides can she even even make trades? I thought you had the power."

"Only one way to find out." Jenn said. "Would you like to swap jobs and job knowledge with Josh until we're done negotiating?"

"Ohhh yes for sure!" Zoe eagerly accepted.

.
.
.

"Well guess that's a no..." Jenn stated.

"I accept?" Josh meekly said, and with a flash he found himself standing where Zoe was holding a notepad. Taking quick stock of himself he was now wearing the shops uniform zoe had been moments ago except not it was much more similar to Tim's with a 'Josh' name tag on his chest. "Woah"

"It worked..." Zoe murmured looking up at him. She now was wearing a black beanie on her head along with an oversized black hoodie hanging down past her waist. Underneath that emerged black leggings feeding into a pair of black platform boots.

"You look just like you work here..." Jenn said eying him up and down.

"Josh!"DING DING! Tim rang from the kitchen.

"I guess I do now."

"Fuckin awesome. Can you get me a slice of that butter cake, and a Oat milk latte? One pump?" Zoe asked. "Should help keep Tim off our back."

"I guess?" Josh responded as he felt his hands naturally writing down the order. "Any thing for you Jenn?"

"No thanks sweetie."

"Okay, I'll see you ladies in a moment." Josh said walking back to the kitchen window.

"Josh I get your girlfriend is here but I need you to stay focused so we can make it through the afternoon rush." Tim said before pointing to the plate he had in the window. "Now here's table 10's order. The one with the toothpick is the one with no tomato."

"Sure. Table 10?" Josh questioned still feeling caught in a whirlwind.

"Yea table 10. I'll have 6 ready in like 7 minutes." Tim said turning back to his grill.

"7 for 6 got it." Josh said stacking up his tray with the plates and finding himself naturally balancing it on one hand as he found himself to where he knew to be table 10 and handed out plates knowing instinctually that the toothpick plate belonged to the college kid wearing the green hoodie. "Hope you guys enjoy!" He chimed as he walked back to the front where a customer was waiting for him.

"Finally! Can I get a mocha double pump peppermint soy latte!" An early 20's girl quickly spat out at him.

"Yea yea..." He said staring at the foreign computer screen ahead of him. But then it all came clearly into his mind and he quickly navigated the screen, took payment, and handed the receipt to the woman. "Go ahead and sign that and it'll be right out."

"Better be..." She muttered scribbling on the paper and handing it back where Josh saw that she hadn't left a tip.

'First order and I'm already getting stiffed a tip.' He thought before turning around and getting to work on her order. He continued like this for what seemed like quite some time. Clearing tables, making drinks, sweeping up. The most entertaining part was that every once and a while he'd pass by Jenn and Zoe and catch snips of their conversation.

"I mean that's just a non-starter!" Jenn would comment.

"I get it's a big ask but not worth that." Zoe would counter.

"Ok... That's... that's interesting." Jenn mused one time. "And you're sure of that?"

But any time he would try to check in they would politely shoo him away, and any complaints on the time it was taking was just met with assurances it would only take more time if he kept interrupting. Exhausted he found himself leaning against the counter looking up at the clock seeing that..."It's only been 50 minutes?!? I feel like I've been at this for hours!"

"I feel ya dude. The rush is the worst. At least it seems like it's about over now. Feel free to just wait there at the front for someone to come in and take a little break. You earned it." Tim instructed from inside the kitchen.

"Thanks Tim." He said as walked over to the front leaned back, closed his eyes, and let out a long sigh. And when he opened them he found...
