Chapter #4

Worn Idol - Sure

    by: Morphology Author IconMail Icon
"You want to swap back already?" She asked looking back over at him. The light purple glasses were perched on his nose much like they would when they were on her own face. "But I was hoping to go without having to wear glasses for a little longer." She started to puff out her cheeks in annoyance.

Not really understanding where she got that behavior, Josh stood firm. "Come on Jenn, that's my eyesight that you have and I want it back." He told her hoping that she would allow him to have his sight back. Ultimately she agreed and once again the room was bathed in a bright light. Opening his eyes once more, Josh started to look around and found everything to be blurry once more. "I don't think it worked, I still can't see right." He told Jenn, hoping that she would be able to help him.

"You're still wearing my glasses, dingus." She told him with a joking tone as she took them off of his face and was glad to be able to see once again. "Are you sure you don't want to try it again? I mean, we can probably talk Kira into swapping with you and then you would be able to stay the night or maybe we try something more interesting." Jenn cooed as she started to rub his hand in a loving manner.

Feeling his heart starting to beat faster and his jeans getting tighter, Josh pulled his hand away. "I don't know Jenn." He tentatively replied looking around the room that suddenly started to get busier as the classes got out and everyone started to get ready to make their way home for the holiday week. "I'm still kind of freaked out about this thing and don't want too many people to know about it right now."

Seeing where he was coming from Jenn ultimately agreed to keep it a secret for the time being. "How about we head home." She suggested remembering one of her teachers telling her about the approaching storm and wanted to get home before it got too bad outside. Josh nodded his head as they picked up their cups and started to make their way outside. As soon as they stepped outside, the cold brisk air caused Jenn to bring her coat closer to her body in an effort to keep her warm. Her thinner clothes did little to help shield her from the cold air.

Seeing this out of the corner of his eye, Josh glanced over at her. "You okay?" He asked concerned about her getting sick from the cold. Jenn nodded her head as she walked closer to him in an effort to shield herself from the blowing wind. "Clearly you're not." He told her as he started to take off his jacket.

"Wait." Jenn commanded as she looked up into his face. "Just say 'Will you swap clothes with me?'" She suggested hoping that he would say it.

"Will you swap clothes with me?" Josh asked with a confusing tone in his voice. "What will..." He started to say, but was soon cut off by Jenn, whose face had formed a bright smile.

"Yes." She replied with a lively manner as she held him closer when the bright flash engulfed the two of them for the third time that day. As soon as the flash occurred, Jenn could feel Josh's heavier jacket and clothes on her body, however as the wind blew down the top of her jacket, she found the flaw in her plan. 'I forgot about my underwear.' She thought to herself as she struggled to bundle her boyfriend's jacket around her in an effort to get her nipples to go down from the cold air.

As Jenn continued to walk to the car, Josh stopped and looked at her with a glowering stare. "Why did you do that?" He asked looking down at his body which was now wearing his girlfriend's clothes. "We need to swap back now so that we can get home." He demanded hoping that she would give in and do as he asked, but he knew deep inside that her mischievous side would win out forcing him to drive home dressed in her clothes. However, instead of stopping and entertain his tantrum, Jenn kept moving forward towards the car. She knew that if she entertained the idea of stopping for him, he would just stay in the middle of the street looking at her. As she got to the curb, she smiled upon heard an exasperated sigh and some heavy footsteps in the light snow in an effort to catch up. Looking back at him, Jenn couldn't help but keep her smile as he was dressed in her light sweater, skinny jeans, Ugg boots. "Yeah yeah..." Josh told her as he started to unlock the car. "Laugh it up."

Getting into the car, Jenn couldn't help but answer back with a giddy tone. "Oh, I intend to." She told him with a wink. Jenn started thinking of various ideas to try out. 'What if I put a time limit on the trait? Or a certain trigger that has to be filled before swapping back. What happens if I make a trigger word and every time I say that word we swap?'

The silence continued on the way home until they got within a mile of the house. "Can I have my clothes back now?" He asked breaking the silence.

Acting like she was thinking about it, Jenn ultimately decided to go ahead with it. "Fine, but you have to agree with what I'm going to say." She told him and as he was starting to turn his head to veto that idea, she cut him off. "Look, I want to try something out and want you to trust me. If you don't want to try, that's fine, but you're going to be wearing my clothes until you find a guy to swap with." In the end, Josh knew that he was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Nodding his head, Jenn clapped her hands together in triumph. "Pull into this parking lot real quick so that we don't get into an accident." She instructed and Josh did as she asked. "Ready? I agree to swap clothes with you _____." Since Josh agreed to the swap before hand, the gift didn't need his input and the bright light enveloped them once more.
