Reeling back in pain, Josh quickly turned to Emily. "I can't change back for 48 hours." He nearly shouted, but gladly found that the area had been emptied from everyone else. "How am I supposed to hide this from my family?" Emily started to apologize, but Josh brushed it off. "Its fine, I just need to have something that I wore before I changed to cover my head. Thank God I have a couple of ball caps at home that I can use. If I don't use one of them, I should be able to turn my hair back to normal." He was saying to himself as he picked up a piece of his now flowing locks.
"That was unbelievable." Jenn replied picking up a portion of his hair as well. Feeling the consistency and ultimately giving it a small sniff too. "It smells like strawberries too." Josh followed her example and gave the portion hat he was holding a sniff too. He nodded his head. "I wonder what will happen if you wear something that hasn't been worn yet or if you wear it before you turn back?" She wondered, playing out possible scenarios in her head and was absentmindedly starting run it through her fingers.
He pulled his longer hair from her grip. "Would you stop that?" Josh snapped looking over at Jenn, who looked like a kid who had her toy taken away. He looked at his watch to see that it was starting to get a little late. "I think we really need to get going." Josh said over to Jenn, who seemed to be thinking about something. "What?"
Twirling her hair around her finger, Jenn looked over at Josh. "Its just that I was wanting to see a couple things." She grabbed her purse and started to look through it. "Where is it at? I swear I can't find anything in here when I need it." Her face started to soon after she found what she was looking for. "Here it is." She pulled out a red hair tie and a hair brush. "Come here I want to try something." She instructed pulling Josh closer to her so that she could start brushing his hair. She felt like she was fixing her sister's hair when she was younger, but now Kira would just brush her own hair real quick to put into a pony tail. After a few seconds, the skilled hands of hers quickly had her boyfriend's hair brushed and pulled into a neat pony tail. "There we go. I nearly forgot that I had taken that out earlier today and it seems that you are stuck with Emily's hair until you change it back." She pulled out her phone, took a quick photo of Josh and showed it to him. "So you can't override a change when its already taken place." She pointed out.
Looking at the photo that Jenn took of him, Josh brought his hands towards the back of his head to feel it then back to the front to feel the bangs that he currently had. "It looks like I just got her hair and nothing else." He surmised looking over at Jenn who seemed a little busy with something else. "Uh baby? What are you doing?" She looked down and held up one of her brown Ugg boots that she tended to wear when she went to class.
Resting the boot on the table, she looked over at Josh. "I wanted to see something. Will you put this on?"
Taken back by what she wanted, Josh shock his head feeling the odd feeling of his longer hair hitting the sides of his face as he did so. "I already have her hair." He said gesturing over to Emily who was smiling like a cat who had just ate the canary. "Why do you want me to wear your boot?"
Talking in a slow methodical tone, Jenn looked at him. "I just want to see if there is a time frame where you can't change and if you wear one item will both pieces change." She motioned her head over to her boot once more. "Please put it on or I won't help you study anymore."
Not wanting to get rid of his golden goose, Josh let out an exasperated sigh. "Fine." Bringing up his right foot, Josh took off his tennis shoe and started to put it on, but found it wouldn't fit. "Well, I guess it won't fit."
Looking a little perplexed at the situation, Jenn saw that he was still wearing his own socks. "Try taking off your socks to see if it will work." Knowing that wasn't going to get out of it so easily, he obeyed and took it off. "Now put it in." She instructed as she brought up her phone and started to film the encounter. Nodding his head, Josh started to put the boot on his foot but soon found that it wouldn't fit once more. He was about to say something when he felt tingling on his foot and marveled as his foot effortlessly slipped right inside. "Wow." Jenn replied as she looked over to Emily. "This is really something." She looked back over to Josh and found him quickly trying to take off his other shoe. "What's going on? Are you okay?" She asked stopping the recording and putting her phone down quickly to make her way over to him.
"I put the shoe on and it started to tingle. Sort of like it would if it was asleep and trying to wake back up again." He said as he got his shoe off. "Then after my foot changed shape, my other one started to get the same tingly feeling." Taking off the sock, all three of them let out a gasp. Below the cusp of his jeans, they could see a petite looking foot with a light green polish on each toe. "Well, I guess that answers that question." He sighed taking off the boot that Jenn offered to him seeing that both of his feet were of his girlfriend's. "I guess I can hide this a lot better than the hair." He replied as he started to put his socks and shoes back on. When he did, he felt like a kid trying on his older sibling's shoes.
"Looks like my size 7 feet are too small for your shoes." She smiled at how her boyfriend's feet were now identical to hers. "Hey Em." She turned to her friend. "Do you still have a pair of sneakers in your car? I know we're the same size and I don't want him to worry about tripping in his shoes."
Emily nodded her head. "I think I still have a pair in there unless you want to wear the boots your girlfriend gave you."
Thinking about it for a moment, Josh ultimately decided to wear _______.
