It kept distracting his focus, the zephyr breeze from a wind, the sound of a student conversation in the corridor, and the various aches and pains that came with his age.
Taking the brainalizer to the en-suite office, the functional lab left behind. The office was quite richly furnished, an antique desk dominating the centre of the room. It even had a hidden drawer, a detail that amused him intensely. But, behind the desk was a thickly padded chair. Upholstered for comfort, and able to recline to a degree.
Walter knew it was exactly what he needed to soothe his distractions aside, and focus on the other mind. Closing his eyes, Walter sank into a deep, comfy chair.
The window was closed, and the Sun was out. The room heating up comfortably, the warmth soothing, and no breeze to distract, also further from the bustle of the university the buzz of student activity was more distant.

His muscles pleasingly relaxed and supple, he fought not to leap for joy, as he picked up distinct thoughts. The concerns of the parallel mind was of their studies, an exam they'd sat a week ago. The anticipation of the results and their consequences.
A teasing frustration coloured those thoughts, and Walter recognised it as sexual tension. Not unbearable, in fact it might even be fun. So he allowed himself to sink deeper into the seat. Allowed his awareness to fade... With a soft moan, he felt the sensations of the new body. A teasing gust, and the steady breathing, there was a vitality, and youth to the body.
It'd be a relief to be free of the aches and pains he'd grown used to...
Then he felt it, a relentless pull. He was latched onto the other body, the change coming, the whirlpooling sensation, leaving him dizzy, and dazzled.

Stumbling back and forth took more effort, but he managed. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
