Carla wasn’t sure what she was talking about until she followed where Esther was pointing. There she saw something that couldn’t be right. Apparently Donna had discarded her fork and seemingly started going in on her key lime pie with her hands. But Why would she do that? Esther didn’t seem to think much of it. Was that supposed to be…normal? Either way, she was bound to make a mess Carla would have to clean so she made her way over.
Once she reached the booth and got a better look Carla found the highway patrol officer sucking the the pie she mashed up off her fingers while she kicked her legs under the table and drummed her other hand in the rest of the pie slice. Despite the mess of green on her face, hands, the table and the bib with a cute drawing of a police car she wore over her uniform to keep it from staining(did she always have that?) she seemed downright giddy.
“Officer Wrigley…are you ok?” Carla asked. She couldn’t put her finger on it but something was definitely wrong here. But Donna just gave a big dumb grin and nodded her head like an overeager little kid. “Are you sure?” Carla pressed. “You’re making a bit of a mess.”
“Oh? Sowwy” Donna shrugged before barley successfully shoving another bite in her mouth. “Jus sheemed mo’ effishen.” She explained with a mouth full of crumbs falling down her chin. Carla started to clean up the mess but was shocked when she looked up and saw…
