**Chapter 6: The Unstoppable Growth**
The morning dawned with a soft glow filtering through Brady's curtains. He stirred awake, stretching his arms above his head and swinging his legs out of bed. Standing up, he felt a familiar solidity beneath his feet. Glancing at the mirror, he sighed with relief to see that he was still towering at 6’10”.
"Maybe it was just a one-time thing," Brady muttered to himself, hoping yesterday’s sudden growth was an anomaly.
Downstairs, Brady joined his family for breakfast, the atmosphere calm and reassuring. Mrs. Thompson had prepared a hearty meal, and Brady ate with a mix of hunger and unease, wondering what the day might bring.
At school, Brady navigated through his classes, his mind constantly on edge, anticipating any sign of another growth spurt. The hours passed without incident, but tension coiled in his chest, ready to spring at the slightest change.
By the time dinner rolled around, Brady's nerves were frayed. He sat at the table with his family, trying to focus on the conversation and ignore the uneasy feeling in his limbs.
"So, Brady, how was your day?" Mr. Thompson asked, breaking the comfortable silence.
Brady forced a smile, though it didn’t quite reach his eyes. "Fine, Dad. Just... waiting."
Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through Brady's legs, causing him to gasp and clutch the edge of the table. The room fell silent as everyone turned to look at him, concern etched on their faces.
"Brady, what’s wrong?" Mrs. Thompson asked, her voice laced with worry.
"I—I don’t know," Brady managed to say, his voice strained with effort as he tried to control the mounting sensation.
With a series of loud rips, Brady’s clothes tore apart at the seams, unable to contain the rapid growth that surged through his body. His shoes exploded off his feet, leaving him barefoot and towering over the table.
Gasps filled the room as Brady shot up another ten inches, now standing at an astonishing 7’8”. The dining chairs groaned under his weight, and the table creaked ominously as Brady struggled to maintain his balance.
"Brady, what’s happening?" Jake exclaimed, eyes wide with disbelief.
Brady shook his head, unable to speak as the overwhelming changes continued to unfold. He felt like a giant among his family, his once-tight clothes now in tatters around him.
The Thompsons sprang into action, trying to calm Brady and shield him from the chaos of his uncontrollable growth. They guided him to a more spacious area of the house, away from the wreckage of broken furniture and torn fabric.
As Brady stood there, towering over his family, a sense of dread settled over him. How could he explain this? How could he continue to live a normal life when his body seemed determined to defy all logic and reason?
That night, Brady lay awake in bed, his mind racing with unanswered questions and fears. The support of his family was a comfort, but deep down, he knew that his life had been forever altered by this inexplicable phenomenon.
As he drifted into an uneasy sleep, Brady could only hope that answers would come soon—before his next growth spurt brought even more drastic changes.
