How do the adults of the village hidden in the leaves find themselves back in diapers with their children left to care for them?

What if it just begins one day, almost innocuously, with odd behaviors that may seem strange but not necessarily alarming. An adult forgetting how to tie their shoes or skipping rather than walking, or a child wiping an adult’s face or scolding them for doing something wrong. Only for these oddities to stack up and up until the village becomes nearly unrecognizable.

Or maybe this change is the result of some kind of virus. A germ with a strange genjutsu effect that causes its host to perceive an adult as a baby and a kid as an adult, thus causing chaos in the population.
