Dean made himself some coffee as he contemplated what he should do on his day off. Shortly after moving into the boardinghouse, he was able to get a job at the game store at the mall. This worked for him because video games were his hobby, and being an employee got him a good discount on anything in the store. He sipped his brew as he took a seat on the sofa and flipped on the television. The morning news was on, which he immediately skipped to the next channel.
Dean hated the news. It was literally nothing but political drama this, and natural disaster that, day in and day out. He surfed channels for a while before settling on an old sitcom he hadn't seen in a while. As he finished his coffee, he contemplated his new neighbors and how they seemed to act a bit strangely whenever he was around.
Whenever they would pass each other in the hallway, they would always smile and say hello in a friendly way. He didn't really mind, of course. In high school, most girls would pretend he didn't exist at best, or were downright mean to him at worst. So it was nice to be acknowledged by the opposite sex, even if they were a different species.
Sometimes they would leave freshly baked pies or cookies outside his door, which he greatly appreciated. Still, he couldn't help but feel like something wasn't right. What were the chances that he would end up being the only male, and a human at that, in a building full of female monsters?
As his brain processed this train of thought, he was interrupted by a knock at the door. He answered it to find that it was...
Aria - A drider black widow, and Dean's landlord. She's come to collect rent for the month, but Dean is a bit short on cash at the moment. She may be willing to let it slide this time, provided Dean does her a favor.
Tanya - A werewolf who loves to party. She can eat her own weight in food and drink most others under the table. Wants to invite Dean to accompany her to a club tonight.
Natasha - An unusually bright and cheery vampire woman. Wants to invite Dean to a movie tonight.
Suki and Yuni - A pair of kitsune twins. Want to ask Dean if he'd be willing to go out witht hem to a sushi restaurant.
