Jealous

Later that night, when Emma had finished her tea, she decided to call Daniella back and apologise for hanging up so quickly before. She should be happy for her friend, not.... what? Jealous? Now she thought about it, she was pretty jealous. She'd always admired Daniella for being so confident while she was so shy, but she'd never had to worry about boyfriends before. Maybe that was what what happened when you started high school, Emma mused.

She picked up the phone and speed-dialled Daniella's number.
'Hello?' it was Daniella's mom
'Hello, Mrs Keeton. Is Daniella there please?'
'My honey, what a polite little thing you are!' she drawled 'I'm afraid Daniella's just gone out. She'll be round soon though.'
'Pardon?'
'Oh, I thought she's actually made some arrangements with you for once instead of just turning up on your doorstep! She'll be right round!'

Emma hung up and waited, but Daniella never came.
