" We need your help for the summer football season," Mike says
"There's summer football?" you ask.
"Local 18-23 year olds," Dad says remembering when he used to play in it.
"Oh ya," you answer," What kind of job would I do?"
Mike says and with his hand on his belly says," I think we need you to be the water boy."
"What?" you ask.
"That's right," Mike grins," we need a water boy. I hear the last guy got a bunch of tips and was even treated like one of the team."
"Really?" you ask.
"You bet," Mike smiles," he came to our work outs, helped us out with equipment problems. He was an all round guy. I think he's on the team this year; not too sure," Mike says thinking.
"Also gives you organization skills and such," Dad says reaching over you and taking away the remote from Mike.
"Hey!" Mike complains as Dad takes the remote.
"Count me in," you smile.
"Good to hear," Mike smiles," Now give me the remote old man."
"Try and take it," your Dad grins.
You jump out of the way as Mike goes for Dad. That was a close one, you think to yourself and head upstairs to your room.
A bit later it's supper time and you learn you have to go with Mike to practice tomorrow at 10am. Which is a little bit of a stretch for Mike since he slept in all last summer until 1pm.
Nothing really happens the rest of the night.
The Next Day
You wake up at 9 and get dressed into some black shorts and a blue t-shirt, the team's colour, and head down to have some breakfast and say good morning to your folks before they head out.
At 9:30 you're a bit worried that Mike isn't up.
