Weapon Selection

You pack your belongings carefully and begin walking on your journey.The path you are on is well traveled but is vulnerable as it is out in the open.You warily watch out for signs of bandits or suspicious travelers as you travel along the path.
In the distance you see a horse drawn wagon coming towards you.There is an elderly dwarve holding the reins and as he comes closer you realise that he is merely a travelling trader.He greets you and he stops his horse.
He hops down off the wagon in a sprightly manner and you realise that he wants to show you his wares.He opens up the back of his wagon to reveal a whole selection of interesting objects.He has various potions and weapons.As you are a bit suspect of his potions your eye is drawn to his weapons.In particular you see a long sword that seems very strong and an axe that seems very powerful.
The sword has a bejeweled handle and feels very comfortable in your grip.You give a few practice swings and it feels very strong.It would definitely let an orc know you are around.
You pick up the Axe and it feels very powerful.Both sides of the axe are extremely sharp and you feel it could cut through orc hide very easily.
The dwarve offers to trade you one of these weapons for one of your cloaks.He says he has never seen the fabric before and he wishes to acquire one of them.You have 2 spare cloaks in your pack so you can afford to trade one of them.
