As they went to the roller coaster, they saw several of their friends and allies were heading for the coaster as well. Sonic was there, along with that new girl Tangle. Sally and Nicole were there, holding hands. Antoine and Bunnie were also holding hands as they came up. Rotor was arriving, along with Shadow, Rouge, and Omega. Omega was carrying a large plush, acting surprisingly protective of it.
"This large, cuddly thing is proof of my superior firepower!" Omega proclaimed.
"You used your gatling gun," Rouge said, looking annoyed. "You were supposed to use the cork gun."
"Target would not have been properly destroyed," Omega said poutily.
"You used too much firepower," Shadow grumbled. "He gave you that plush so you'd stop firing."
"I left the stand mostly intact!" Omega protested.
Others were there as well. Shade, Mina, Blaze, Silver, Marine, Honey, Sticks, Knuckles, Mighty, Ray, the Chaotix, a strange echidna girl who gave her name as Jewel (when she first introduced herself, she started to say something else, but hesitated and said Jewel) that Knuckles found oddly familiar... All of their friends. They all got onto the roller coaster, ready to have fun.
The ride started. Amy and Tails, sitting at the front, traded excited looks. The cart crested the first hill and zoomed down. Up! Down! Through loops! It was wonderful, and only and Sonic and Shadow seemed unimpressed. The two of them were quietly discussing getting out and making the cart go faster. As they approached a tunnel, though...
*KCHUNK. KCHUNK. KCHUNK*
One by one, lockbars appeared over every passenger, the track descending into darkness. Sally tried to calm everyone, but panic was starting to set in. Omega was trying to cut himself free with a torch, but it wasn't working. As they fought, the cart's seats grew walls, the train separating into separate carts, each containing one prisoner.
And then the lights turned on. Eggman symbols appeared in the darkness, Eggman's voice cackling wildly over the loudspeakers.
"A TRAP!" Shadow snarled.
"My new soft friend shall protect us!" Omega declared, aiming his guns at the lights.
Before anyone else could react, the carts separated, going down deeper and deeper, sliding wildly along many different tracks as they screamed in a mix of fear (and in the case of Shadow, Omega, Blaze, and Sonic) frustrated rage. Finally, they reached the end of their nauseating ride, the carts flying into the darkness in many different directions...
They landed hard, crashing to the ground. Tails and Amy looked around as best they could in the shadows, trying to find each other...
