To the tavern!

by: DragonWrites~The Fire Faerie~ Author IconMail Icon
Despite the earliness of the day, your feet turn and lead you in the direction of the tavern before you can even determine if you long for ale or not, feeding on a few mortals along the way. You only embrace them, only slightly call them too you like an old friend, and leave them to return to their lives dazed and slightly lighter.

You can see the sailors working against the deep blue of the sea in the distance. You envy them slightly until you remember all the times you spent in the dank darkness of a ships bowels.

The captain of the ship had offered you friendship. Naive and anxious to rid yourself of lonliness, you accepted. In truth, he was a slave trader and believed you to bring a great price across the sea.

Their surprise and dismay was evident when they ventured below at journey's end and found all the other 'cargo' dead. You killed the captain slowly, disembarking into a strange land with stranger customs.

As you watch the ships, you dream of a simpler life, and of the woman you loved so tenderly the night before you died. She had sworn to love you forever. How little she realized. Forever is a long time...when you're damned. You enter the dark tavern and sit at a single table in the far corner.

A barmaid swoops in to take your order. "Ale." You bark. Truly, vampires have no use for alcohol, you just savor the taste. Drinking ale makes you feel almost human. Almost.

She brings you your ale and you toss a silver coin upon the table. She deftly pockets it and moves away, leaving you to wonder if you will have to pay for your drink again. Most women took the money and never said a word. It truly didn't matter...she seems as if she needs it.

You sip the liquid and study the man behind the bar. He seems strangly familiar. After a long while of brainsearching, you shrug it off and finish your ale.

You have the following choice:

1. Time to return to the Inn
