Several dozen of the mysterious figures known as authors appeared before a cloaked figure. They glared at him angrily, some manifesting powers.
The cloaked figure glared at them all, his eyes glowing. "I have called you, because your powers in altering reality can be used to my advantage. Help me, and I can make it worth your while."
"What do you want from us?" demanded one author.
"All I want you to do is stop influencing realities and act directly on them. Fatten yourselves up, eat whomever you want. Take anyone you want to your bed. This will help in my plans, and all you have to do is enjoy yourselves."
The authors all looked interested in this. "What's in it for you?"
The cloaked figure grinned. "In due time, I will tell you. Suffice to say your souls and the souls of those you care for will not be affected. So feel free to have fun."
The authors traded amused looks.
"It WOULD be nice to have some fun for ourselves for once, stop letting the characters get all the action," said one author.
"True enough," said another, "As much as I like playing around in the lives of these people, I'd love to just go in and party..."
Eventually, all the authors agreed, teleporting off to have fun.
The cloaked man sat down at his monitor and began to laugh...
