To you, his feet are a vast distance apart. More than enough room for you to dash past. You could even swing a cat or two as you did so, had you any to hand.
While your brain tells you that this is a fact, you can't help but feel fear as you get closer to the mountain of a man. His pacing, for all its slowness, trembles your bones, and the implacable, inevitable nature of his walk makes you wonder what his reaction would be to your chaotic presence.
You're nearly there, almost through, when he turns. Maybe someone asked him a question, or he saw something out of place, but he has spun on is heels, closing off the gap and making you impact heavily with the side of his foot.

He may be here for some time. Should you wait until he moves on, safe in his shadow, or dash on just in case he moves back just as suddenly and crushes you?
