Chapter #4After School by: Unknown Adam and Richard were waiting outside the schoolyard, waiting for Ben. Richard was giggling to himself, "Aw, man- I couldn't wait during school... All I was thinking about was how big Ben's gonna be." "You know...." Adam said, "I never actually said that Ben would be 300 pounds by this sundown... It would be just as well that the gain wasn't so fast so people wouldn't get suspicious." "He should be coming out soon..." Richard said, pointing to the front doors, "Man, what's taking him so long... he doesn't have to stay after school, does he?" Adam shrugged.
"Perhaps his locker is at the other side of the school from his class" Richard suggested, "Lets just wait five more minutes."; As five minutes past Ben came out, and Adam and Richard noticed that his shirt wasn't as loose anymore, his stomach was hanging over the waist of his pants a little bit; Adam had estimated he already gained about 70 pounds, "I guess it is working, should we go talk to him and see what he says about his 'sudden' weight gain?" Richard asked curiously; "Sure" Adam replied. They both walked towards Richard for a quick conversation about the weight gain.
"Hey Ben!" Adam called, waving a hand out at the short and slightly startled boy. He seemed to be very sad and had already noticed his gain. He seemed astounded and had tried to put reason behind his gain... but it didn't make sense... Ben's head looked towards the ground meekly as he quietly walked over to Adam, "Uhm... hi, Adam..." he said, his brown eyes shifting around. "You remember my name?" Adam asked. "...Well, how could I forget it. I remember everyone's name- and you're Richard, right?" he asked as Richard nodded.
Ben was thinking "It is weird, perhaps it is, how should I put this, an allergic reaction to something?"; "How does one gain weight due to an allergic reaction!?" Richard asked sarcastically; Ben sighed "Well I don't know what else to say, perhaps it is just my body is retaining water,"; Adam didn't know what to say "Uh... yea"
"Uhm... I have to go..." Ben said nervously as he started to run off without Adam or Richard's consent. "We should follow him," Richard said. "I've got an idea," Adam said, thinking that Richard didn't feel sorry for Ben, "I'll wish we were invisible and nobody would notice that we were gone- we'll follow Ben and watch him and how he deals with this," Adam said as he made his afformentioned wish.
Even though they could see eachother noone noticed them which slightly annoyed Richard "You said we be invisible!"; Adam calmed him down "We are" They follow Ben unoticed thinking of what would happen next; Within minutes they were at the mall in the food court, Ben was ordering a really greasy hamburger combo and he started eating it. Now Richard was afraid "He is going to get huge!"; "Quiet!" Adam said "He might hear us so don't say anything!"
Ben went up to the register and got his meal- a thick, towering burger with cheese, grease, glistening meat, all smothered in ketchup, onions, mustard... He took a tray as he went off to his table. As he sat down, he pulled a hankerchief out of his pocket and sneezed, "Gee... I'm not feeling that great..." came his voice which echoed slightly. "We must be hearing Ben's thoughts," Richard whispered to Adam as Ben sneezed. "It has to be an allerigic reaction... it must be," came Ben's dreary thoughts, "Otherwise... but why have I gotten fatter- this certainly isn't water," thought Ben as he pulled up his shirt and slapped his belly, making it jiggle- then, Ben took a bite from the hamburger and continued until he had finished...  | Members who added to this interactive story also contributed to these: |
