This choice: Fuck it, squash that pest! He deserved it. • Go Back...Chapter #4The Amazing Race on Tivo by: Tocks “Wow Eddy, this brings a new meaning to the word little brother,” said Jenn, wiggling her sandaled toes at him.
“I can’t believe that really worked,” breathed Becky, “he’s small enough to squish under one foot.” Jokingly, Tiffany lowered her bare foot over Jenn’s cowering brother for comparison, then backed up. The girls were in awe of their new power.
“Uh, Jenn, it looks like you’re out a pair of panties,” said Becky, “because they shrank along with Eddy and- HE’S RUNNING!” Eddy had had enough of this scary situation and made a break for the door. Jenn plopped her enormous foot down in front of him to stop his flight, but he nimbly vaulted over her toes and slid under the door edge to the hall.
“Crap,” said Jenn as the girls regrouped and flung the door upon. Eddy was making surprising time for such a little size. He scampered across the linoleum on his way to the laundry room. He could hide there under the heavy washer/dryer until Mom and Dad got home. In the lead, Tiffany put on a burst of speed and leaped ahead to stop him. Unfortunately she misjudged his speed and one bare foot landed right on him. His little body immediately smashed into paste as her full body weight crashed down upon him. Sliding a little, she stepped off and as the girls converged, their expressions showed a combination of squeamishness and fright. It was one thing to talk about squishing him or even the idea of stomping on people they had grudges against but this? “Oh geez, Jenn, what are we gonna do?” wailed Tiff, rubbing Eddy’s blood off her foot on a throw rug.
“OK, don’t panic. My folks won’t be home for hours, we’ll think of something.” For the next half hour, pretty much all they did was some form of panicking and wild thinking. Jenn started looking at the cause of her current problem, the shrink remote thing. She’d thought of it as a TV remote when she first found it, but had ignored all the other little buttons once she used the big one. Now she looked and saw a button she hoped meant what she thought.
“Stand back, I’m going to try something. I hope this works.” Pointing the machine at Eddy’s pathetic remains, Jenn pressed the button labeled “RWD” A bubble around Eddy formed, but nothing else happened for an increasingly disappointing long time. Then suddenly, the mess on the floor reformed and stood up, speedily running backwards. Jenn stopped holding down the function that caused a localized time adjustment to objects previously under the device’s molecular rearrangement. Jenn didn’t know about any of that science geek stuff. All she knew was the “REWIND” button worked and she wasn’t going to get grounded or something.
The girls laughed relievedly and high-fived Jenn as Eddy was once again terrified into motionlessness. Then Rachelle stepped forward and put her stockinged foot on Eddy and pushed down with her toes. In the abrupt silence, a tiny squish was heard.
“Rachelle!” yelled Jenn.
“Relax, Jenn. You can reverse him any time you want. And I thought it was only fair to get a chance to feel a little guy underfoot too,” said Rachelle reasonably.
“Hey yeah, I want to play with him. He’ll be good practice for my ex-boyfriend,” said Becky. Tiffany was still a little creeped out and thought they should see if they could get him back to normal, “and get some anonymous creep,” she added.
