The Cost

For the next two years, Jenn led a triple life. The first was her innocent, if bitchy teen queen lifestyle. The second was the remarkable number of people who “left town”, “killed themselves” or just “disappeared” around town. No one connected Jenn to the disappearance of the cheerleader, the strict teacher, and the Computer Club. Nor do anyone notice that Jenn was nowhere around when the “Giantess from Hell” showed up to torment the townsfolk for miles around. Increasingly, Jenn spent more time in her third state, growing more and more callous towards “the little pieces of crap underfoot” and her inventive cruelty tripled. At the end of the two years, as she was crushing the newly rebuilt Town Hall and the celebrating crowd, her giant heart gave out. Her giant body crashed to the ground in a blinding crash of dust and more wide-spread damage. Upon death, she shrank back to normal size. She went unnoticed among so many bodies. Nor did anyone notice the girl in dusty black retrieving a TV-style remote from the wreckage. Carrying it off back to her workshop, Kate wiped the dust from the device that had put Jenn in the situation to break free of her morality and wreak such destruction.

“Oh, my Lord Satan, this was your best idea yet.” Kate complimented her demonic master as she planned what town and place to “drop” the device in next.
