Did I feel attached to the story or poem?

I have a friend like that too. We met when we were eight, so the first lines caught me right away. I love that you never strayed from each other, that you always made time for each other. What an awesome and special relationship!


Would I recommend this piece of writing to someone else?

I think anyone who has a special person in their life that makes them feel special and joyous would feel connected to this piece. It's important that we pay tribute to our friends. They bring up when we are down and know how to make us feel better. They are the silver linings.

Was there a clear purpose to it?

It's a tribute to friendship and the inspiring feelings of joy and loyalty they evoke. It looks like it was written from an empty nest point of view and I will be walking that path in the next ten years or so. Thank you for sharing a piece of joyous hope!


Glows:

I love the rhyming structure of making sure two lines rhyme. I will have to experiment with that. I love the last verse, it's my favorite. It reminds me of my own best friend, at the tender age of eight she claimed us at our neighborhood pool and we have never lost touch.

Grows:

I'd love for you to add a verse that tells a story between the two of you. What is one of your favorite memories?
