"Game of Thrones"   by Gaby ~ Way behind!

Rhythm/Rhyme
An open verse poem written about sad moments in life. There is no question this is a very sad poem, haunting even.

Imagery
The ceramic clowns that serve to mask all of the hurt that went on in this house were chilling as if they stood witness to all of the horrible things that happened in this room. The Beast reference was outstanding, even without describing him, all of the information you provided about him painted a complete picture. I could see him sitting in another room, smoking, watching television, getting his big steak dinners without one care in the world, almost oblivious to the things he'd done in the past.

Impressions
I'm honestly at a loss for words when it comes to this very vivid and heart-wrenching piece. How do you critique someone about such a personal story? I felt bad for your mother and understood how that one meal is something she still cannot stomach so many years later. The child who doesn't fully understand and wants to sleep with the clowns and break bread with Beast, such innocense I could see in her. Just the thought of a full refrigerator and full belly is enough to make this house appealing to a child who goes without. Very moving.
