Breathe [ASR] Late-night cleanup gone awry |
Review brought to you by: "Game of Thrones" by Creeper Of The Realm OVERALL IMPRESSION - It's always a good thing to make sure that your victim is really dead before you try to dispose of the body. A really well rounded gripping story. WHAT I LIKED BEST - The darkness of the story as it pertained to both men. It is a struggle for life as it played out on the boat. PLOT~ Miguel has taken Horacio out toward the ocean hoping the current will carry the body. He struggles to get the body off of the boat and into the water, but he manages. And then he realizes that Horacio is still alive. He remembers his gun in the belt of his pants, but cannot get to it before Horacio makes his move and pushes Miguel into the water. The two men fight with Miguel being the victor, but there is a price to pay. CHARACTER(S)~DESCRIPTION~ Miguel had his night of first, which doesn't play out as he thought it would. Great descriptions in this short story. I could picture the scene of the boat out in the water with hardly any light to lead the way, and the stillness of the night set an eerie scene as he tried to dispose of the body. The fighting in the water and struggle for life was easy to follow along. Once he got the gun free, it was hard to determine how the story would end. You made it easy to get into Miguel's train of thought and follow along as the story progressed. The only thing that I wondered about was the Spanish words that I hadn't heard of before. Maybe a little footnote at the bottom so your reader doesn't have to search for their meaning to keep reading.
