This poem deals with Human Rights and describes some rights that are essential for people. I think it makes an important distinction that Human rights go beyond just mere survival. This poem identifies that the freedom to voice an opinion, practice a religion, avoid discrimination, a right to privacy and true equality are important Human rights. There is a segment of this poem that the Declaration of Independence capturing Life Liberty and Happiness as essential freedoms. It is a perfect poem to release in honor of National Human rights month.
