Your poem has sadness which I can relate to because I also have lost pets. The words flow well and did not distract me. I could imagine the kitten, dog, and scenes like watching a movie. It felt like your words were gently petting the animal. I'm glad you got to know these wonderful animals and were able to spend time with them. It's nice to know they had a good life with you and your family. I know cats do not always accept new arrivals but I was happy when they managed to live peacefully together.

When I first read your poem I was confused when you added the dog to your poem and had to take a closer look at the events.
