Zippers [13+] Zip away. |
It is my pleasure to read your story, "Zippers." Congratulations on your 16th WDC Anniversary! Reader's Reaction: What a cute story! I'm not sure I would like traveling by train, but this family sure loved it until... Characters/Dialog: I like the character Mrs. Sadarangani who definitely knows how to keep a baby quiet. She is charitable, giving away her pillow with her gift of jewels for a wedding couple. I liked her niece too! She seemed to be the one who enjoyed the journey by train the most. Emotion/tone/Atmosphere: The emotion was amusing, suspenseful, and optimistic. The tone is compassionate, resigned before being reassured by Toufiq that they will be the pillow back. Plot & Pace: The plot revolved around a pillow that had a zipper compartment to store away your valuables without anyone knowing the difference. The pace moves along with the Sadarangani family, getting ready for a wedding that they were not planning to attend until the pillow situation came into focus. Structure/plot/setting & Imagery: The structure is well done, the setting is given along with great descriptions, great characters, and a plot that becomes scary for a while until Toufiq to the rescue. Favorite Lines: And at the end of it all, Mrs. Sadarangani was grateful for her own charitable nature, for had it not been for that charitable nature, she would never have had her little adventure. Overall Impression/Conclusion: What a cute story! I loved the train ride with the different people riding it along with them. Mrs. Sadarangani seems like a great person that has interesting things happening around her. I thought a rikshas would be fun to ride in, but I changed my mind after reading your story. WriteOn!
