This is an deep poem. It interesting that idea that seeing death can cause a person to evaluate the value of life so thoroughly. The narrator seems to do that looking at the corpse with a critical outlook. Then there is the twisted thought in the last stanza where the narrator suggests that the corps may be his own. It is very intense.

On technical level I was so absorbed by the subject matter that initially notice the rhyme scheme that was set up. It is good though and allows the poem to flow really well. There is also an strong refrain used twice in this poem which lays out the two outcomes of human life either dying old or dying young. Powerful writing.
