Yearning for a Dream [] This poem is drawn from my own feelings of using the written world as an escape. |
"Game of Thrones" "The Iron Bank of Braavos" A Review from "The Iron Bank of Braavos" ! Hi The Green Welcome to WDC. My name is Lyn, I am one of the sly foxes. Title: Yearning for a Dream First Impression: The author has chosen a free-style poem to express her feelings. The narrator embraces life different challenges with a frankness that draws the reader into her escape. What needs your attention: The only stanza this reader struggled with understanding was the dreams of many her one and only. Is it dreams of many loved ones or many dreams of her one and only? The wording is awkward as it is. What part I liked best: I enjoyed the visual images the city of spires stanza. It reminded me of many sunsets I've watched overlooking the city of Philadelphia. Some of the buildings with the different architecture styles could easily be examples of unnatural power looming around us mere mortals. Overall impression: I sensed the author was evaluating different stages of life unsure which direction the future held or whom to trust. It's always good to evaluate. I don't know if you know every January there's a contest called Dear Me where the author writes about their year and the goals they want to accomplish. The rhyme pattern chose felt smooth to me except in this one stanza with rock and loch. Overall, the poem was enjoyable to read.
