Enya's Audition [E] A young elf dreams of joining Santa's team. Will she? |
Hallo Amethyst Snow Angel ! I will be reviewing your work
Content: Enya is an elf who aspires to become the next fixture in Santa's Magical Workshop. With her excellent qualifications and 'can-do' attitude, she's sure she'll be a perfect fit. However, can she meet the challenges Santa poses to her, and will she finally be able to fulfill her dream? Pluses: It's never easy to write a complete story with a word count looming over your head; but you were able to do a good job writing a cohesive short story and being able to introduce and bring your main character to life. We are able to walk with Enya and experience all she does with vivid clarity, and we find ourselves rooting for her success! Although one would expect something rather whimsical, when it comes to qualifications, it's nice to see the real life scenarios you toss in - in regards to her skills in graphic designs and her attending high school and college (clever with the names of said schools and environment by the way). A particular section I liked was the description of the scenery on her way to Santa's house. The peppermint stepping stones and candy cane lantern holders/poles made for a delightful image while reading. Same goes for the workshop itself and the sense of activity and almost frantic energy amongst the elves working. Nicely done! Oh, and there's the little personal touch of Enya remembering her mother's advice - the ring she caresses for strength and repeating those same words of advice given to her when she finally achieves her goal. Suggestions: Here are a few things I noticed while reading. Please remember that these are only my suggestions/opinions and it's ultimately up to you to choose what works best. >>Tinny (Tiny?) Christmas music (or maybe it is 'Tinny' because the music sounds like tins rattling. Hah!) Overall, this was a very fun read, and I thank you for sharing it with us. Keep on writing! My review has been submitted for consideration in "Good Deeds Get CASH!" .
