I found your story via the Read & Review feature, and I enjoyed reading it! The opening drew me in quickly to find out more, and it set the scene nicely to get a good visual for the rest of the story.
I thought it moved along at a good pace, and I enjoyed the suspense as Elle was slowly falling deeper into some sort of darkness. It built-up to a surprising end, and so even though it's part one, it did leave it off at a place to keep the reader coming back to read more.
A couple of suggestions for your consideration, but it's totally up to you on what to edit:
I think a couple of questions have to be covered in this part of the story. I know it's only one part, but I wanted to know why the mirror was there in the first place, and if it causes this problem in the shop all the time, why wouldn't the shopkeeper dispose of it? I would maybe just expand on that aspect a little to give some background to deepen the story.
Also, I noticed you haven't filled in the three genres. Maybe 'Horror' and 'Fantasy', but that's up to you. It just gives the reader an idea what to expect while reading a long.
I think the asterisks are for italics. If you want to use them the WritingML code is {i} at the beginning of the wording and to end it use: {/i}. Italics are usually used when someone is thinking, so this part would work in your story, *Come closer…* because she hears a voice. I know you have the asterisk throughout the story, but it might be distracting if you have too much italics everywhere. Other WritingML codes can be found here: WritingML Help
I enjoyed your descriptions like when Ella entered the shop, and the details of mirror were excellent. Like I mentioned above, I thought the ending was done well because it opens the story right up for the readers to return. This is a good introduction, and I think it will make for a good story. I hope the next part of it goes well. Keep up the great work, and welcome to the site. Happy writing!
