*PenB* First Impressions:

That was a very moving story. I didn’t figure it out immediately. When he was walking with his family, his daughter’s hand in his, his wife strangely detached, I figured he had been diagnosed with an incurable disease and that’s why he didn’t have much time left. Naturally, he wanted to make the most of it, spend as much time with them as possible. Everything seemed brighter to him, which sounded logical if he had been told he was soon going to die. He observed as his wife and daughter were shopping, which didn’t sound all that unusual. Lots of guys are just there to carry the bags and hand over their credit cards but don’t get involved in the actual experience, so it all still seemed quite plausible. It was only later, when his wife put his daughter to bed, and I suddenly understood what was actually going on, and I thought it was very well done.

*PenG* Suggestions:

The story was very polished and I only noticed one tiny error:

hearing the rhymic sound of Michelina's voice
Was that meant to say “rhythmic”?

*PenP* Final Thoughts:

The story didn’t end when I thought it would. When he had to finally say goodbye to his family and his old life and moved on to the next, there was an additional twist, and it was a rather uplifting one. It turned out that in this story, the afterlife was something quite different, and I thought the mention of past lives he had spent with his wife was very intriguing. You didn’t say what would happen next - would he wait for her there, would they both be reborn together to spend another lifetime together? Was this something that happened to everyone or were they special in some way? The story left me with questions, but that was a good thing because it was very interesting to contemplate the implications.
