Aquarian
Rhode Island poet, Ann Marie Mazz aka Ann Marie Mazzarella, invented the aquarian.
MUST HAVES
--meter: syllabic, in the following format – 2, 4, 6, 2
--line count: 4
COULD HAVES or WHAT IS THE POET’S CHOICE IN ALL THIS?
--number of stanzas
--topic, theme
--rhyme
Aquarian - Variation
Rhode Island poet, Ann Marie Mazz aka Ann Marie Mazzarella, invented the aquarian, I couldn't verify that she also invented the variation—only that a variation exists.
MUST HAVES
--meter: syllabic, in the following format – 4, 8, 12, 4
--line count: 4
COULD HAVES or WHAT IS THE POET’S CHOICE IN ALL THIS?
--number of stanzas
--topic, theme
--rhyme
Ovillejo
Ovillejo is a Spanish form that's several hundreds of years old.
MUST HAVES
--line count: 10
--number of stanza: 4 (3 two-line stanzas and one four-line stanza)
--meter: Syllabic, in the following format – 8, 3 or 4, 8, 3 or 4, 8, 3 or 4, 8, 8, 8, 9 to 12 (this depends on the length of lines 2, 4, and 6 as they are repeated as one line in the last line).
--The first line of each of the couplets must be a question.
--The second line of each of the couplets must either be an echo of the first line or an answer to the first line.
--rhymes in the following format: AA BB CC CDDC (the final line is a repeat of lines 2, 4, and 6—in that order)
