Letter from the editor

Where is that song coming from? It’s stuck in my head, now. I leave the kitchen and check the TV, and radio — Nothing! Then I check to see if that lady who’s always listening in on my smartphone is trying to get my attention. Nah, I’m pretty sure I cut her vocals chords the last time she was trying to tell me she couldn’t understand the words coming out of my mouth. What could it be that’s making me sing this tune along with the sound? It was a song that I remember the Eagles performing, called “Dirty Laundry.”

The part that kept on a loop in my head was the:

*Music2* Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em all around *Music1*

Dirty Laundry *Music2* Hmmmm. That’s when it dawned on me to look behind another door. I tracked the mysterious presence of that tune in my head in the room where my clothes dryer resides. *Ha* What an apt piece of machinery to play that song for me, although it should be clean laundry when it ends up in the dryer. *Shock*

So why does my dryer play that song for me? WebSon heard it one day when visiting, and mentioned I need a new dryer belt. He said he could order the part and get it quieted-up for me.

I was happy to know it was an easy repair. I was also a little sad to realize I won’t be dancing around while doing chores miming that song in my head.

Well, I guess I’ll always have this ...

*Witch**Wind* That’s all the Dirty Laundry she aired for this edition of the Comedy Newsletter.

Until next time — laugh hard, laugh often! And enjoy those little songs that make the chores pass quickly!

I attempted to assemble a bookcase. Once I got it all together and set up, I found that it leaned to one side, and one of the shelves sagged in the middle. Needless to say I've never attempted to assemble anything else.

Trouble assembling items? The worst trouble I had was with my curio cabinet. It has two large sections with several slats of wood separating the glass. These pieces of wood had notches cut to hold the glass. I was doing fine until I found that on two of the pieces of wood the notches were backwards.

Now I had a decision to make. Do I send this massive cabinet back for two pieces of wood carved wrong? or do I try and work with it? I did work with them...it was difficult, but I did make them work.

See you next month, folks!
