Writing.Com is like a world map. There are roads leading to many places and small towns to stop at and explore. If you have marked your destination, it’s best to stay focused on the right way to go. Too many stops along the way could stifle your plans to arrive at the final destination.
With many roads to choose from, how do you focus on the right one? To illustrate, the car you drive is your writing project, so which road are you going to take? There are many highways and bi-ways on the WdC world map, and with a little guidance, you can mark your destination with ease.
The first thing you have to decide is which road you want to drive on. Some may want to stop at tea shop, but you might prefer a scenic park. Your focus would be to arrive at the final destination that works for you. To help you with your driving experience, check out a few places to mark on the map.
 Are you looking for advice on writing?
Start by reading the newsletters the site has to offer. Read in the genre that appeals to you. They are delivered to your door once a week!
Find the newsletter road by subscribing here:
 Click on My Account/Go to Account Settings/Scroll down to Additional Account Settings/Click on: Manage Newsletter Subscriptions Check the boxes for which newsletter you would like to receive and click submit.
You can read previous newsletters by clicking on the Community tab and then select Newsletters. The top link will take you to the archives, then choose which genre. You will find plenty of advice!

Have fun entering contests! A contest page can be found by clicking on the Community tab found at the left side. Select Contest and choose what appeals to you!
 Is reading your favorite road?
There's plenty to read, and feel free to send the author feedback on what you thought of their work by sending a review! Places to reach and read authors:
Click on the Community tab at the left side and click on The Plug Page, Read & Review, Please Review, or even read a fellow newbie. You can also click on the tabs at the left for something specific, like Browse By Type or Browse By Genre. There's a lot of little highways to choose from!

The above WdC road map is a brief drive around the neighborhood. Take your time and be careful that you do not get lost. There are plenty of tools to keep your car in good shape so use them wisely. The most important thing to remember is to find the best route for you and to keep focusing on the road ahead until you reach your writing project destination. Happy travels!
