Letter from the editor

Welcome to this month's October Mystery Cozy newsletter. As the autumn leaves fall and the air turns crisp, we are delighted to bring you a special Halloween edition of The Mysterious Memo, your go-to source for all things cozy mystery. In this edition, we shine a spotlight on three talented authors known for their captivating tales of intrigue and suspense. Join us as we explore the eerie mysteries crafted by Auralee Wallace, Angie Fox, Lee Hollis, Bobbi Holmes, Lynn Cahoon, Amanda Lee, and Denise Jaden, perfect for indulging in this Halloween season.

Let's start with Auralee Wallace. Get ready to have your funny bone tickled and your sleuthing skills tested with bestselling author Auralee Wallace. Known for her witty writing style, Wallace takes the cozy mystery genre to a new level of hilarity. Curl up with her "Maizie Albright Star Detective" series, where her aspiring actress-turned-private investigator heroine finds herself entangled in the supernatural. You won't be disappointed.

Next, we'll look at Angie Fox. Angie Fox is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author best known for her Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries and Monster MASH series. Her bestselling book, “The Haunted Homecoming”- apple cider, bonfires, football, and—ghosts. It's homecoming weekend in Sugar Land, Tennessee, and ghost hunter Verity Long is tickled to see so many souls—living and dead—back in town to celebrate. This story will really tickle the funny bone and leave you wanting more.

On to Lee Hollis. Lee Hollis is the author of the acclaimed Hayley Powell Food and Cocktails cozy mystery series, and the Desert Flowers cozy mystery series. Her story, “Death by Haunted House”, when new neighbors move in next door, Hayley Powell is finding the Halloween spirit a little too close to home this year in coastal Bar Harbor, Maine. She really has a gift for taking unknown locales and bringing life to her stories.

Now, we move on to Bobbi Holmes. Bobbi Holmes is the author of the popular Haunting Danielle series, which follows a single mom living in a haunted guest house. Her story, “The Ghost of Halloween Past” shows that spending Halloween in a haunted house is nothing out of the ordinary for Danielle and Lily. After all, Marlow House Bed & Breakfast has its own ghost.

On to Lynn Cahoon. Lynn Cahoon is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Tourist Trap Mysteries, the Cat Latimer Mysteries, and the Farm-to-Fork Mystery series. Her short story, “A Deadly Brew” is her best selling cozy mystery for Halloween and it’s a fitting addition to the list.

We're down to the last two authors and I hope you are still interested. Here is Amanda Lee. Prepare to be enchanted by the magical mysteries conjured by acclaimed author Amanda Lee. Her spellbinding series whisks us away to a world where witches, potions, and broomsticks rule the day. Lee's ability to blend supernatural elements with cozy crime will keep you guessing until the very last page.

and the last cozy author is...Denise Jaden. I enjoy the teenage sleuth mysteries. I remember my first Nancy Drew short story...um, well, I don't remember the name but I do remember enjoying solving Nancy Drew mysteries. Okay, but we're onto Denise Jaden.

Mixing suspense with teenage ingenuity, Denise Jaden creates page-turning mysteries that will keep young readers and the young-at-heart captivated. Jaden's series focuses on curious teenagers uncovering haunting secrets, appealing to mystery enthusiasts of all ages.

I hope this tantalizing glimpse into the worlds of these talented cozy mystery authors ignites your Halloween spirit and provides you with plenty of eerie tales to enjoy throughout the spooky season. So grab a warm cup of tea, snuggle up under a cozy blanket, and turn those pages. You never know what mysteries lie within!

Till next month, dear reader...Happy Halloween!

Ask & Answer

In last my last newsletter, I asked a question about Robert B Parker. The question I asked was what type of dog was always included in the Spenser novels? What does name was always given?

One reader was up to the challenge and here is her response:

Hello, Gratitude Adore ♥ Author IconMail Icon.

In the current newsletter, I posted a question what type of dog was always included in the Spenser novels? What dog name was always used?

Robert B. Parker had a great fondness for dogs, including German Shorthair Pointers dogs. In his Spenser stories ongoing series of novels, the dogs were always named Pearl.

Thank you so much.
