Christmas in Lenten Season
Lenten season is my favorite celebration every year not because it is a long week holiday wherein it will be from Wednesday to Sunday, but this is the time that we will be reminded about the struggle, the pain, the death, and the passion(love) of our Lord Jesus Christ until successfully instituting it to the Resurrection day.
In Religion definition
Lenten Season is the 40 days from Ash Wednesday to Easter that is observed by Roman Catholic, Eastern, and some protestant churches.
Some may only understand Lenten Season is just a traditional reminder
but for me, it is the most important thing that was done in the past
that gives an eternal benefit to every human.
But did you know that Christmas is found or it's really in the Lenten Season?
Here is a verse that expresses the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ on a summer day:
Luke 1:26¬ And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,(KJB)
Here are some but for me, the most important points are why I linked Christmas to the Lenten Season and why it is so important to humans.
1. The Scourging-
Lenten Season reminds me here of the time how a Man endured all the strife that it is for you and me but He catches them all for our own sake because if we Believe in His Word
this will reflect and will manifest the healing and wellness not only for our physical body but also for our soul.
'By His stripes we are healed.
2. The Crucifixion-
Lenten season reminds me here of the Man who died on the cross so that my soul will live.
If we believe in His Word
even when we our still dead in our spirit, or having our sinful nature
God- the Father already made us alive with Christ - He already forgave all our trespasses(sin) even if we are not yet still not asking for forgiveness (still not figuring it out).
He already canceled the debt or the requirements of the law that stood against us(used/using by the enemy to claim us)
He took it away nailing to the cross, and disarmed the enemy's powers and authorities.(Colossians 2:12-15)
(Hebrews 2:14-15)
3. The Resurrection -
Lenten Season reminds me of the Man who was raised from the grave.
All humans(flesh) are destined to the grave death and may perish because their spirits are dead, after the fall in the Garden of Eden.
But the resurrection of this one Man is a proof by God the Father that humanity will not destined to death but will resurrect also just like the Manwho resurrected from the grave-
through believing and receiving His Promise that our dead spirit must be born again in His Spirit(Holy Spirit).
Lenten Season is the time of repentance that we humbly acknowledging that we are all born with the curse of sin and
we(humans) are in indirely need of a Savior.
This is what real Christmas means to me, they are the same means of Lenten.
It Expresses the Great Love of God to everyone.
