Full Moon Madness
If you believe that this doozy of a blue full moon doesn't affect people's mood and behavior, you haven't been paying attention.
Ask anyone who works in an emergency department. Heck, ask anyone who works at any medical facility at all. Ask anyone who works at a police department. Ask anyone, anyone at all, who works at any type of people-y centric business.
I work in the medical field. Still. (Cue the deep sigh.) We are feeling the pain of this particular full moon, believe me. People are even more spaced out, edgy, and impatient than usual.
Or, maybe that's just me. What I mean is, maybe it is just me that is more spaced out, edgy, and impatient than usual. No, I refuse to believe it is not just me. This feels monumentally epidemic. Slightly unhinged emotions are bubbling right under the surface, causing people to act irrational and chaotic.
Good times, I'm telling you, good times. On days like this I have to chant under my breath ILoveMyJob,ILoveMyJob, usually through gritted teeth. I find I can do this while simultaneously plastering a remarkably realistic smile on my face and counting the days until my retirement.
It's 292 days, thank you for asking.
Of course, I realize that not all of my issues with humans will be solved when I am able to retire. My immediate world will contain fewer people, so hopefully that will be enough to improve things. If I get tired of all that peace and quiet, all I have to do I drive into the city to enjoy all the road rage Colorado has to offer. That should be reminder enough to stay home on my small plot of land on the high plains and gaze up at the next blue super moon without dread in my heart.

Here are a few comments from my last Comedy Newsletter "Adventures In Moving"
From s
We packed the boxes, we helped the movers pack the truck, got to the other end, helped unpack the truck... and two boxes we got had things in them that weren't ours...
I bet there wasn't anything good in those mystery boxes, either.
From 🌕 HuntersMoon
When I was transferred to Germany, the Army packed all our stuff and shipped it. It never arrived. Four years later when I returned to the States, I got a call saying our stuff had arrived. Yep - it was the missing household goods.
I have so many questions...
From Lilli 🧿 ☕
The day we began our move from Arizona and back to Maine was memorable. My dad pulled into a busy gas station to fill up the car when it was announced on the radio that Elvis had died. The gas station let out a collective gasp, people were just staring at each other, and some began to cry.
I lived in Vermont when that was announced on the radio. I remember it clearly. I stood there by the kitchen radio and listened for ages. I was young, but I knew something very significant had happened. |
