About This Newsletter

Life without action is static, and by necessity, it would therefore be dead. Action writing takes the normal and shares it for all to live vicariously.

Adventure is the spice: the exciting, adrenalin-pumping, thrill that makes one feel so alive. Everyone has an adventuresome spirit. Maybe dreams of excavating some long-lost treasure, visiting a new country, or trying a new flavour of potato chip. *Wink* Some of us prefer our adventures to come between the pages of a book, and many of us like to write that adventure.

Knock-Out : Round Two

The first knock-out round proved very popular, keeping my little fingers active as they recorded the results. The Serial Movie Mania also pulled in many votes.

Thank you to all who have participated so far. I received 45 responses on the main survey, and 42 for the serial/trilogy survey.

Remember, if you want your say, you need to vote on your favourites. *Wink*

Haven't had your say in the process up to now?
Then jump in now and influence the results.

What suprised me the most was the serial/triology picks often do not match the single movie picks in popularity. It will be interesting to see whether there is a similarity in the final results.

With blurry eyes, aching arms, and little tally marks parading across my mind, I present...

...the next set of knock-outs, for your choosing pleasure.

1. Movie Mania Knock-out 2

From 100 films, we have narrowed it down to 50. Phew! That's some hefty elimination. A lot of my personal favourites made it through, and some didn't. *Frown* One I was particularly sad to see knocked out already was The Last Samurai. Hey, what can I say - I'm bias since it was filmed in New Zealand. *Wink* I am happy to see our one and only animated film is still in the running. *Smile*

The lowest scoring film was The Chill with only 3 votes, only just beating Cop Land with 4.

There is a leader on 38, but only by a margin of 2 votes. Then there's a whole bunch sitting a single vote behind the current second place. At this stage it could be anyone's game.

Will my remaining favourites make the next knock-out? Well, my readers, that's for you to decide. *Wink*

2. Serial Movie Mania Knock-out 2

The series which got the lowest votes was Jaws with 6 votes, followed closely by Mission Impossible with 7. There are three series/trilogies in the top section only separated by a few votes. The Godfather set narrowly missed making it into the top group.

Here are the 10 voted as the most popular. Now I need you to narrow them down to the top 6. In the next newsletter, a poll will determine the winning serial/triology. *Smile*

Ask & Answer

This was harder than I imagined it would be. I thought of some movies that I totally forgot about while taking this... "Deep Impact" was a great action/adventure flick.

It was tough to narrow it down!

The first 3 Rocky films were pretty solid, with the first one winning the best picture Oscar, and the 4th was okay. The first couple Scream films were 2 of the best horror films ever.

So we haven't seen the third of the Pirates movies... is there any possible way that it wont be good? hehe.

Interesting grouping of movies. It was a fun survey, thanks.
