Will you be by yourself or sharing the holidays with family or friends? Use your time creatively by remembering some of the unusual stories or phrases you hear. You can use them in a story or poem.
I will be spending my holidays in a long-term care facility, therefore I will have a chance to finish writing or starting a story or poem based on memorise.
One unusual memory I have is one of my nephews name for Thanksgiving. He called it Turkey Day. I did not find the name amusing when I first heard it. I have recently changed my mind. Now I wonder what a turkey would think of it.
I also wonder what extraterrestrials would think of the winter holidays we celebrate. That would make an interesting story or poem. Would an alien like or dislike the taste of turkey, ham, or cranberry sauce.
