** Survey Results - Figures **

A grand total of 77 survey responses were received. Thanks everyone! *Bigsmile* That was the simplist figure to work out. *Wink*

Question 1: Do you consider yourself a spiritual being.

86% of those surveyed answered that they did consider themselves a spiritual being.

Questions 2 and 3: What faith or religion do you identify with?

Just over half of responders identified with a Christian background. Among the remaining responders the range was very broad. These are just some of the beliefs given in the survey: Muslim, Wiccan, Neo-Paganism, Panentheism, Holistic Spiritualist, Cruschon, Deist, Agnostic, Hindu. Many of these I have not heard of before. There were also a number of responses which indicated a spiritual form with no defined name.

Questions 4 and 5: What led you to decide on this spiritual path?

The reasons people gave for what led them to their spiritual path was fairly evenly split. Personal Experience was the leader of reasons for why people are in the faith they are. This was closely followed by family tradition and research/informed choice. A number of people claimed their walk was due to a combination of all or some of the listed factors. This grouping was similar in number to the top three.

A handful of people responded with these reasons: friends, missionaries, dreams.

Question 7: How active are you within your faith?

68% of responders said their faith was part of their daily life. The next highest result was for 'at least weekly meetings/ceremonies. A smattering of people answered in each of the remaining options.

Questions 8: How convinced are you that you're on the right spiritual path?

66% answered they were completely sure their path was the right one.
18% of responders were 75-99% sure of their path.
The remaining amount was evenly split between 50-74%, do not believe in a spiritual path, and still determining their spiritual path.

This seems quite a superficial reporting of the survey results. Facts and firgures usually are cold and emotionless. What I find more interesting, and I am sure you will too, is the stuff that's hard to quantify. The answers which are as personal and as varied as the individuals who wrote them.

That more diverse and tricky set of results I will delve into next month. I'm not quite sure how I will present the varied responses, but I am sure you will find it as interesting as I have.

Till next time:

I'm glad you enjoyed the survey. There's your plug. *Wink*

*Star* This is a good survey about what spiritual beliefs we have and why.

The questions asked made me examine my heart today. The areas asking for written responses were especially good for this spiritual 'check-up' I had to perform in order to answer them properly.

I had been looking for inspiration to start my day. This was just as good and maybe better than any devotional or poem I could have read. Thanks for this beginning to my day.
