About This Newsletter

Deuteronomy 32:2
Let my teaching fall like rain
and my words descend like dew,
like showers on new grass,
like abundant rain on tender plants.

Letter from the editor

1 Peter 4:10 Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others,
faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.

Around this site there is evidence of God's grace at work. Here talented authors and reviewers work in a cooperative effort to improve the gifts God has given us and share them with others. We offer our own gifts to others in the selfless acts of kindness and praise. Part of kindness is being frank and honest with one another. Sharing our experiences and lessons we have learned in life with our community is another kindness. Let the lessons learned by others be heeded and remembered.

Leviticus 19: 18 Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people,
but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.

There are a number of groups on our site that help members with memberships and review support. Taking a small bit of time each day or each week to help another is part of what makes this site work. Whether you belong to a group or help others on your own, your generosity will be returned with abundant blessings. Members here never cease to amaze me with their support and kindness.

Job 10:12 You gave me life and showed me kindness,
and in your providence watched over my spirit.

Take a few moments and savor God's grace and your personal blessings. Remember it in your day and in your aspirations.
Write on!

Excerpt: My basic premise is that God is good, God is love and all life is born of God’s abundant love. Is it any wonder, then, that animals have the sense to protect themselves, an instinct programmed into their genes, distinct from intellect?

Excerpt: In the early spring of 1999, the loud shattering of broken glass caused everyone in our high school cafeteria to cringe in unison. Most of us thought it was a gunshot, but we just sat there--silent and frozen in our seats.

Excerpt: We have reasons to be thankful
For the generous gifts received
Such as our daily food, friends
Their absence do we grieve.

Excerpt: A Godly man prays here. Although the creek has been reduced to a fourth of its volume, and the leaves on the trees have turned various shades of yellow and reds, it’s still beautiful. It seems like one of the most natural and uncontrived spots around.

Dear God Open in new Window. (E)
A poem to God to ask for help and give thanks.
#1331414 by Ilove2write Author IconMail Icon

Excerpt: Dear God give us strength to do things that are right
give us courage in our lives, teach all not to fight

Excerpt: One man sitting on the street, soaked in his pain
There was nothing good in his life, nothing more he could gain

Excerpt: Listen, kid, I know you’re upset, but what do you want me to do about it? I had valid reasons for letting Mary and Joseph raise you, and if I had to do it again, I wouldn’t change a thing. You had a good childhood, and you can’t change the past, so quit your damn whining! You’re eighteen-it’s time to get over your daddy issues.

The Potter's Cup and Saucer Open in new Window. (ASR)
The delicate and perfectly formed saucer wondered what happened to her matching cup.
#491462 by Kenzie Author IconMail Icon

Excerpt: The Potter’s mighty hands performed a miracle in creating a delicate and perfectly formed saucer. From the Potter’s wheel to the fiery kiln, He lovingly guided her. As her forming process was completed, He stamped His creator’s markings lovingly upon her.

Being Naked Open in new Window. (13+)
This isn't in the physical sense, but a spiritual thing...
#663659 by Stallion Author IconMail Icon

Excerpt: So as I looked into the mirror, I asked myself, “Why should I be naked?”

Excerpt: This is a deep question and one that has baffled people for generations. Many books about Christ’s life, especially many movies made from the books, give the impression that Judas didn’t fully understand who Jesus was.
