Taking Time To Celebrate

Summer's over. Days are getting shorter. The TV is constantly playing ads of political candidates bashing each other. I don't know about you, but it's not MY favorite time of year - that's for sure. So, in light of that, it's extra-important to find something out there to celebrate. Of course, there's Writing.Com's big birthday to celebrate and many activities out there in honor of it. When that dies down, finding something to celebrate may take a bit more creativity.

My brother is probably the person the best person I know at finding things to celebrate. He annually celebrates International Tuba Day (the first Friday in May) by sending cards out to people and other things. He held a Soap Box Derby over the summer and the biggest fanfare came to the person who received the "Pity Award." He regularly celebrates the existence of bacon (ick!). I think he even threw a bacon party.

And, what can that translate to on here? It can be taking time to write something that is just fun instead of for a contest or other obligation. It can be entering more contests or raffles or hosting them yourself. On a smaller scale, it can be just taking a moment to acknowledge something good in the day. Perhaps you'll find yourself sharing the joy with someone else by doing extra reviews or sending out anonymous gift points.

So, get out there and join some of the fun.
