Where To Find Action And Adventure
Usually once a month I get a reminder email from the The ScaryMaster to get my newsletters done. The problem is that because of the schedule, I have two newsletters to do at the same time: the Horror/Scary, and the Action/Adventure. Of course, I always do the Horror/Scary first because it is so much fun and that is my genre of choice; but I got to thinking that there really isn’t a Horror story, a Sci-Fi story, Mystery, or a Fantasy that doesn’t have high Action and Adventure in it. Just about everything written that is fun to read actually has both.
So, with that being said, don’t be alarmed to see a wide variety of genres in my Editors Picks this week. The truth is that every story has Action/Adventure in it or they just wouldn’t be very good.
Lately, I’ve even read some Romance and Erotica around these halls of unlimited talent and was amazed to see how much Action goes on in them too, especially the Erotica, whew…*wipes sweat from brow* …very intense indeed.
Anyway, my point here is to write what you write and always…ALWAYS… put some top-notch Action and Adventure in it. Whether you’re looking all over the world for your ‘true love’, or you’re just going down the street to get a burger, make sure you make it fun for your reader to go along with you. Create a character we can care about, throw in some sweeping Action and Adventure, and we’ll follow you anywhere.
And please, forgive my short newsletter this week. Up here in my wet State of Washington, we had us some major rain and flooding. There were several occasions my family and I started packing for evacuation, but fortunately it never came to that. It was grusome getting home from work too (3 hours to drive 20 miles), since the main freeway to my house was closed down because 'a river ran through it'.
Nonetheless, I've got some thrilling Action and Adventure I will have to save until next time to share with you.
Until then,
billwilcox
